Admissions
Secondary school admissions to Sir Thomas Boughey Academy are handled by Staffordshire County Council.
You will be contacted directly by the council to apply for a place in Year 7 and can apply online or by completing a paper application form. Staffordshire County Council will then contact you in March to inform you which school your child has been allocated to.
Applications for September 2025 open on 1st September 2024. You can find out more and apply below. Applications must be made to your home local authority.
If you do not live in one of the above local authorities, you should contact your own local authority admissions department.
In-year Admissions
Sometimes your child may need to start or change school at a different time of year. You will find helpful information on what to do if your child needs to move schools during the school year on the Staffordshire County Council website who handle our in-year admissions.
Important Dates for September 2025
- Online applications open - 1st September 2024
- Return date for paper application forms - 31 October 2024 by 5pm
- Return date for online applications - 31 October 2024 by midnight
- Decision emails to parents - 3rd March 2025
- Decision letters to parents - 3rd March 2025 by 2nd class post
