Cycle To School Week 2026
Cycle to School Week returns from 5-9 October, encouraging students and families to enjoy the benefits of cycling. Whether it's cycling to school, swapping a car journey for a bike ride, exploring somewhere new or enjoying a family cycle, every journey counts. Join the challenge, get active and help support healthier, more sustainable travel. Find out more and make your pledge through the Bikeability Trust here https://www.bikeability.org.uk/cycletoschoolweek/.
This year's campaign highlights the 'real cost of the school run'. Beyond fuel costs, the school run can mean time spent in traffic, increased congestion and a greater environmental impact. Bikeability estimates that families spend around £109 a year on school-run fuel costs and that switching from car to cycle for a school year could save around 307kg of carbon emissions. Cycling is a simple way to save money, improve wellbeing and help create cleaner air around our schools.
