Staffordshire County Council Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme offers children aged 5–16 free access to a wide range of fun, enriching activities across Staffordshire during Easter, summer and winter school holidays. This has now been extended to October half term this year. Only children on targeted free schools are eligible unless a referral is made.
- They can attend one session over October half term
- This includes a healthy meal if the session is over 2 hours
- Paid for places are also available from some of our providers too
Eligibility - FSM
The programme is designed primarily to support children and young people aged 5-16 years who receive targeted Free School Meals (FSM).
- Families will receive unique HAF codes for the child/children from Staffs County Council by email or post and should use these codes to book activities through the Staffordshire County Council website when bookings open on 5 October at 4pm.
- Support for booking is available via online guides and local Family Hubs.
- We recommend that parents/carers set up an account before bookings open, so they do not miss out on activities. A video showing how to do this can be found here(opens in a new tab).
- A variety of clubs and activities are offered across the county, including sports, dance, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, animal and sensory activities and many more.
- Activities take place at many locations across Staffordshire, which are viewable on the booking page or map via the Staffordshire County Council website.
HAF teen offer: a range of activities exclusively for young people aged 11 to 16 who are eligible for targeted free school meals are also available on our HAF programme.
As well as fun activities, teenagers can also take part in development opportunities such as football coaching.
