School Uniform

Uniform

• Black Blazer with Sir Thomas Boughey Academy logo
• Conventional black pleated skirt (knee length)
• Plain White Shirt
• House Tie: School Ties should be in good condition and not have threads removed or defaced.
  Wedgwood - Blue
  Duchess - Yellow
  Moorcroft - Red
• Conventional Black Flat Shoes (not informal footwear such as trainers, canvas, backless or casual shoes)
• Plain Black Socks / Tights (tights should be plain and not patterned)
• Conventional Black Trousers (not corduroy, canvas or denim). All trousers must be full length and of a formal style and cut. Fashion items such as leggings or jeans must not be worn.

SCHOOL BLAZER: is compulsory for all years

To help you and your child prepare fully for the forthcoming academic year, below is a reminder of the uniform requirements:

• Blazers are to be worn by all pupils
• Skirts must be the knee length school skirt*. Trousers must be plain, conventional school trousers (not canvas, denim or corduroy) – black for boys & girls*.
• All pupils must have suitable black shoes (NO trainers, canvas or backless shoes)
• Optional, plain black V neck jumper (no logo) - Autumn and Spring Term
• Make-up and Nail Varnish must not be worn
• Fake eyelashes are not permitted**
• No false nails or nail extensions of any description**
• Jewellery must not be worn with the exception of a watch and one simple stud in each ear
• No other piercings are allowed and your child will be asked to remove these. Plugs and stretchers are not permitted**
• Hair must be of a natural colour**
• No extreme hairstyles**
• Pupils should arrive to school with a pencil, eraser, ruler, calculator, pencil sharpener and pens (black, red and purple)

Consequences

The Academy enforces a consequence system for uniform infringements. Students work through a hierarchy of sanctions. Persistent issues will result in a student being placed in internal suspension.

**Pupils who do not conform to these standards will be placed in the internal suspension room until the issue is resolved.

Our uniform is designed to be easily available and practical in all situations.

P.E. Kit

• Black t-shirt with Sir Thomas Boughey Academy logo
• Black hooded sweatshirt with Sir Thomas Boughey Academy logo
• Black shorts: these can either be plain black, or they can have the Sir Thomas Boughey logo.
• Black football socks
• Black tracksuit bottoms: these can either be plain black, or they can have the Sir Thomas Boughey logo
• Black sports leggings (not fashion leggings or heavily logoed) - optional

* Please note that girls who currently have a navy PE kit will be able to continue to wear this colour until the point at which a new PE kit is required.
