We endeavour to stretch, challenge and develop students academically, socially and personally. To enable students to succeed, we pledge to offer and expose our students to 12 opportunities.

The WAT Pledge – Unlocking Personal Potential

At Sir Thomas Boughey Academy, the WAT Pledge and Pledge Week is about far more than trips and activities. It is an opportunity for every student to unlock their personal potential, broaden their horizons and create lasting memories with their peers and staff. The WAT Pledge was developed to ensure that all students experience meaningful civic, cultural and personal development opportunities that stretch, challenge and develop them academically, socially and personally. 

Through a wide range of experiences, students are encouraged to step outside their comfort zones, discover new interests and develop the character attributes that sit at the heart of our Aspire Mountain. Whether working as part of a team, demonstrating resilience, showing leadership or embracing new challenges, Pledge Week helps students grow into confident, well-rounded young people who are ready to thrive in school and beyond.

Most importantly, our Pledge Week helps strengthen the strong sense of community and belonging that makes STB such a special place. Shared experiences create lifelong memories, deepen friendships and reinforce the connection between students, staff and families. By learning together, celebrating together and challenging themselves together, students embody our values of Excellence, Kindness and Respect, ensuring that everyone feels nurtured to grow and empowered to thrive.
