Meet Our School Counsellor:

We are very fortunate to have an experienced counsellor on our staffing team. Miss Day has been at the school since 1999 and has been a qualified counsellor since 2012. In addition to her counselling qualification, Miss Day has qualifications in a range of areas, including, but not limited, to:

  • Eating Disorder Understanding and Awareness
  • Anger Management Counselling, including Advanced Anger management Counselling
  • Childhood in Crisis
  • Mental Health and Young People.

Miss Day has also previously completed the ELSA training (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant). This course recognises that children and young people learn better, and are happier, in school if their emotional needs are also addressed. By completing this training, Miss Day is able to deliver emotional literacy support programmes to pupils who have difficulties understanding, identifying and managing their emotions so they can become more emotionally resilient.

Miss Day has her own office just off the LRC (Learning resource centre), and offers drop-in sessions each break and lunchtime for students who wish to talk to her. Alternatively, it is possible to have a weekly appointment with Miss Day during the school day. To enquire about this, please speak to Mrs Holloway or directly to Miss Day.

Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Council Advice on Vapes

Important Safety Notice – Vapes Alert

Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Council have issued a warning about potentially dangerous ‘fake’ vapes being sold to children in the Stafford area. These unmarked vapes have led to serious health incidents, including hospitalisation.

Please speak with your child about the risks and help us keep our school community safe.
